UPSRTC has constituted a three-member committee to select a suitable location to install LED display panels at bus stations in Lucknow and Ghaziabad.
The LED display panels and passenger announcement systems are to be installed at 100 bus stations in Lucknow and Ghaziabad under the Nirbhaya scheme.
Minister of state for transport (independent charge) Dayashankar Singh said that a list of 85 bus stations has been finalized for the purpose.
UPSRTC has signed a contract with M/s NEC Corporation. A deadline of four months has been fixed for the implementation of the project.
In addition to this, installation of VLT (Vehicle Location Tracking) equipment and panic buttons in the buses of Lucknow and Ghaziabad areas has started and soon will start in other areas as well, said the minister.
In the three-member committee constituted for the purpose, the regional manager of the concerned area will be the president. The assistant regional manager of the depot and the representative of the service providing organization will be the other two members.
He said that while selecting the site by the committee, it will have to be kept in mind that the display panel is installed at such a place from where there is good visibility for the passengers, power supply and internet connectivity can be easily available.
He said that in case of installation of display panels through pole mounting, it must be ensured that it does not create any hindrance in the movement of buses and there is no possibility of collision with any bus.
