To get out and enter the car in a max space, the Tesla Easy Entry setting does a great job by moving the steering wheel and driver’s seat. But this setting can stop working to indicate a problem.
It mostly happens due to system failure, software issues, changed Driver Profile settings, limited seat range, or activated Valet Mode.
Just reboot the car, update the software, reset the Easy Entry settings, calibrate the seat and steering, or turn off the Valet Mode to fix the Easy Entry not working issue.

Troubleshooting Tesla Easy Entry Issues!
If your car’s Easy Entry stops working, the first thing you’ll need to do is to detect the cause and then try the solution. Let me show you some of the causes and how you can fix them:
Cause #1: System Error
As you use the car on a regular basis, it can cause the car’s internal system to make glitches or stop working (which is normal). In this situation, you’ll need to reboot the car to regain the previous setups of the Easy Entry setting.
How to Fix?
Start by doing the soft reset via the 2-scroll button of the steering wheel for 10 seconds. Then, let the car reboot and do the magic.
After that, go to Controls > Safety > Power Off and simply turn the car off. Next, hit the brake pedal after waiting for 5 – 6 minutes.
If this doesn’t work, then power off the car and open the frunk. Then, remove the top storage panel and battery cover. Next, unplug the 12V battery ground wire and HV loop plug for 5 – 6 minutes. After that, reattach all the parts.
Cause #2: Software Issue
Most of the time, the issue of Easy Entry occurs when there’s an upcoming firmware update that needs to be downloaded. Due to firmware mismatch, the car can act weirdly and cause features like it to get stuck. To fix it, you’ll need to install the new software.
How to Fix?
Just use the car’s screen and go to Controls> Software > Update Available section. Then, click on the Software Update and let it get download fully. For that, ensure to turn on the Wi-Fi.
After that, open the Tesla app on your phone and go to Software Update > Install/Yes option. Next, the car will start the update session and you shouldn’t do anything when it’s updating.
Cause #3: Corrupted Driver Profile Settings
Sometimes when you add Tesla Driver Profile more than once, the Easy Entry can stop working as your regular-used profile setting seems to oppose it. To resolve this issue, you’ll need to reset the Easy Entry settings.
How to Fix?
To reboot the Easy Entry setting, you’ll need to delete the Easy Entry profile from the list. For that, go to Controls and hit on the Driver Profile icon at the top section.
Next, you’ll see all the drivers list and click on the Driver’s Profile Setting (the last option). Then, select the Easy Entry option and click on the Delete bar.
After that, click on the other driver profile that you have, and based on your preference, hit on the Easy Entry checkbox (make it blue). That way it will initiate the popup to recreate the Easy Entry profile that you used to have.
Or else, just click on Add New Driver option and enter a name, adjust the driver’s steering wheel along with the seat. Then, click on the Save bar to enjoy the Easy Entry setting.
Cause #4: Seat Range Is Limited
In rare cases, your car’s seat range can get limited. Due to this, the Easy Entry may stop working and show no movement of the seat and steering wheel. You can easily troubleshoot it by recalibrating the driver seat, steering, and mirrors.
How to Fix?
To start with, go to Controls > Service and then find the option called Driver Seat, Steering & Mirrors Calibration option.

Then, click on it, and then a prompt will show to describe the direction of it. Be sure to read it carefully and then hit on the Start button. Next, immediately get out of the car and ensure to remove stuff from the back (if you place it).
Cause #5: Valet Mode Is Turned On
A lot of times folks forget to turn off the Tesla Valet Mode and seem to disable the Driver Profile to make any changes. To make the Easy Entry work again, just turn the Valet Mode off and then change the driver profile before clicking on the Easy Entry setting.
How to Fix?
Using the car’s screen, go to Controls and hit on Driver Profile at the top section. In the bottom section, you’ll find the Valet Mode and click on it. Then, enter the 4-digit PIN to get out of this mode.
If you have a phone with you, then open the Tesla App and go to Security > Valet Mode. Then, enter the 4-digit PIN (if required) to turn it off.
After turning this feature off, you’ll need to click on the other driver profile and then select the Easy Entry setting.
