Before you take your car to the Tesla store or local auto shop, it’s vital to know how much it costs to change the door.
Depending on the car series, the Tesla door replacement cost can be higher or lower. For instance, you can replace the Model 3 or Y door at $8k – $8.5k at the Tesla Service Center (TSC). But it will cost more than $10k to change the MS or MX door at TSC.
Don’t worry if you are planning to change the door via the Tesla Service Center or local store. Here, I’ll share the replacement cost details (approximate) for the door in each series. Let’s Go!

Tesla Model 3 Door Replacement Cost
From a certified shop of Tesla, the Model 3 door will cost around $7,500 – $8,000. Plus, the cost of parts is $1,800 – $2,000 and the rest of it is labor cost.
For the Tesla Model 3 door panel replacement, it can cost around $1,000 to $2,000 if you count the body paint, installation cost, and so on via the service center.
And if it’s about repair, it will cost less around $325 – $500 or more from a local auto store. If talking about the repair of door parts in the Model 3 cars, it will cost around $3,000 from the service center.
Note that if you do the replacement of Model 3 doors from a non-certified auto shop, the cost will be more than $2,000.
Tesla Model Y Door Replacement Cost
If you are planning to change the door of MY cars from a certified Tesla shop, it will cost around $8,500 or more based on the labor. Most of the time, the cost rises if removing the existing door is hard or takes more time.
The replacement cost would be a lot less than this if you do it via a local auto shop. They’ll replace the part for $5,000 (at max).
For the Tesla Model Y door repair cost, it would be no more than $4,500 if doing it via an authorized shop of Tesla. However, it’s much cheaper in a local auto shop to fix issues on door parts that cost around $55 – $1,000 (at max).
Tesla Model S Door Replacement Cost
The cost of changing the single Model S door is more than $9,000 – $10,000 (based on the labor difficulty) via the service center. As the parts of Model S are hard to find, Tesla Service Centers may charge more for part and labor costs.
To change the door of MS in a local repair store, they will do it after charging around $6,000 (at max) or more.
For the repair of the door, you may need to spend around $4,500 or more at the service center. The expert team will charge $700 to repaint the door and blend it into the other panels, $650 for molding, and so on.
However, it may charge less if you change the part in a local auto shop, probably around $1,000 – $1,200 at max.
Tesla Model X Door Replacement Cost
Tesla Service Center or its certified stores may take a little more to change doors in MX cars, between $10,000 – $13,000 or more.
FYI, the Tesla Model X Falcon door replacement cost is more than $15,000, due to its rare design if done by the service center. However, it may cost about $7,000 or more if done via a skilled mechanic from a local auto store.
For the repair of a Falcon or front door, you may need to pay $6,000 or more at the Tesla Service Center. If you repair the same doors on the nonauthorized auto shop, it will cost much less than $2,000.
