All-electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Volta Trucks has joined Paulaner Brewery Group to provide all-electric zero-tailpipe emission deliveries to the world-renowned Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany, as part of Volta Trucks’ Driving Experience Programme.
With the deployment of the all-electric 16-tonne Volta Zero, the Paulaner Brewery Group is not only helping to reduce emissions in Munich’s city centre but is also increasing the safety of all road users and festivalgoers whilst making beverage deliveries to the event sites.
The vehicle’s innovative and eye-catching design has attracted the attention of the people of Munich and visitors to Oktoberfest, with the drivers receiving many admiring looks, along with several questions about the beer transport of tomorrow.
Oktoberfest, first launched in 1810, is an annual event held in Munich, Bavaria and attracts more than six million international and national visitors to the region.
Paulaner Brewery Group is operating the all-electric Volta Zero around the streets of Munich as part of the Volta Zero Driving Experience Programme, allowing them to understand how the production-specification all-electric medium-duty truck will integrate into their operations.
Usuf Schermo, Head of Germany Sales at Volta Trucks, said, “Seeing our trucks on the streets of Munich and delivering to a world-renowned event is fantastic. With the organisers of Oktoberfest looking to make strides towards a greener and more sustainable event, having deliveries into the city that produce zero-tailpipe emissions is a great step towards our business goals of decarbonising city centres.”
