MAHINDRA XUV 400

The Mahindra XUV400 electric is available in two variants: Mahindra XUV EC, priced at 15.99 lakh, and the MAHINDRA XUV EL, which comes in at 18.99 lakh. In the EC model, the users will get a 3.3 kW AC Charger and the EL model users will get a 7.2kW Charger. There are also some changes in the features between the two variants. 

TATA NEXON EV 

The introductory price of TATA NEXON EV is ₹ 14.74 Lakh. The car is available in three variants namely Empowered, Fearless, and Creative. The price of Empowered is as mentioned, the Fearless variant is priced at 16, 69, 000, and the Creative variant is priced at 17, 84, 000. There aren’t any major differences between the features and specifications of the three variants. 

So the price range is almost the same for both electric vehicles but it is important to note that prices may vary from state to state.

 RANGE

So, as stated above there are two variants of Mahindra XUV, EL and EC. So when its comes to Range the former model gives an approximate range of 375 Kms and the latter model gives a range of 456kms. Both variants though get the same electric motor outputting 110 kW and 310 Nm.

TATA NEXON EV 

The Tata Nexon EV offers two battery pack options. The first option is a 30 kWh battery pack, which boasts a claimed range of up to 325 kilometers on a single charge. For those seeking even more range and flexibility, there’s the second option, featuring a larger 40.5 kWh battery pack, which can take you up to 465 kilometers before needing a recharge.

So, when compared in terms of range, both EVs offer quite close range, and its fair to say that both vehicles offer competitive ranges that should be sufficient for many drivers’ daily commuting and travel needs. 

CHARGING TIME

MAHINDRA XUV 400

In Mahindra XUV 400 a 50kW charger can charge upto 80% in just 50 minutes. It takes six hours 30 minutes to fully charge the vehicle through 7.2kW charger socket and 13 hours through a 3.3kW charger. 

TATA NEXON EV 

The TATA Nexon EV offers efficient charging options for its users. When using a 7.2 kW AC fast charger, the estimated time to charge the vehicle from 10% to 100% state of charge (SOC) is approximately 4.3 hours, providing a full charge over a relatively short time frame. Additionally, for quick top-ups, the Nexon EV supports fast charging from a 50 kW DC fast charger, allowing you to reach 80% SOC from 10% in just 56 minutes. 

When comparing the charging options between the Mahindra XUV 400 and the Tata Nexon EV, the Mahindra XUV 400 does indeed offer a quicker charging experience with its 50kW charger. It can charge up to 80% in just 50 minutes, which is faster than the Tata Nexon EV’s 56 minutes to reach 80% from a 50kW DC fast charger.

TOP SPEED

MAHINDRA XUV 400 

The Mahindra XUV 400 is one of those four-wheelers with the longest range in the EV sector, with 450+km on a single charge and a top speed of 150km/h. It can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds. This speed is said to be suitable for highway driving, allowing for comfortable and smooth cruising at highway speeds. 

TATA NEXON EV

The Tata Nexon EV Max has an electronically limited top speed of 140- 325  kmph. The Nexon EV Max can go from 0 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds. The Tata Nexon EV Facelift LR version can go up to 150 kmph, making it quite fast. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV Prime XM version has a top speed of 120 kmph, which is a bit slower. If you like fast acceleration, the Nexon EV Max can go from 0 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds. The long-range version of the 2023 Tata Nexon EV Facelift is also quick, taking only 8.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kmph

So, to compare Mahindra XUV 400 slightly offers higher top speed.
