A fleet of 50 new CNG buses will be added on city roads by Bhopal City link limited (BCLL) soon. Two routes will connect Nayapura (Kolar) to Phandakalan and Raisen road and third route will connect SAI to Obaidullaganj.
All buses will be equipped with GPS based Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) connected with Central Control and Command Center for real time monitoring of bus operations. Automatic alert generation and redressal for various city functions like route deviation, schedule adherence system/trip miss system for buses, speed violation are likely to be implemented in its entirely with upgradation of BCLL IT this year.
All vehicles operators are to follow the latest Emission norms after implementation of BS-VI from April, 2020, BCLL official said.
The vehicles will be fitted with four electronic route destination boards (LED based). Displays will synchronise with audio messaging through vehicle mounted speakers. The bus architecture is being made compatible with ITS, the system on the bus should be such that a single controller should be able to control PIS (Audio and Visual), cameras, VTS, driver bus route guidance. Each bus shall have four cameras (2 inside, 1 on front road mounted and 1 on rear side mounted) with 5 day backup.
BCLL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and has about 250 vehicles in its intra city fleet.
