New Delhi: Altigreen Propulsion Labs, an Indian electric vehicle (EV)company, Friday announced its technology collaboration with MathWorks, a leading developer of mathematical computing software, to develop Altigreen’s flagship electric three-wheeler the ‘NEEV’.

The company has been at the forefront of the electric three-wheeler movement in India. Altigreen’s electric three-wheelers are “Made in India, made for India” and are priced to bring them within reach for small business owners, independent drivers, and fleet operators. The NEEV has gained industry recognition for its performance and eco-friendliness, the company said in a media release.

Amitabh Saran, founder and CEO of Altigreen, said, “Our commitment extends to providing not just an eco- friendly solution but also a cost-effective and reliable mobility option that empowers individuals and businesses to thrive in a sustainable and prosperous future. Using MATLAB® and Simulink® enabled our teams to rapidly test ideas and iterate on new design enhancements and features. Our proactive approach of investing in simulation and clean technologies, such as electric powertrains, helped the company reduce emissions and noise and create electric three-wheelers that outperform their fossil fuel counterparts in terms of torque, power, and range.” Altigreen initially enrolled in the MathWorks Startup Program, which provides early-stage companies with cost- effective access to MATLAB, Simulink, and more than 120 vertical applications to build their prototype and scale production. In addition, the MathWorks Startup Program also offers technical mentoring, technical support from application engineers, training options in local languages, and discounted training. Altigreen graduated from the MathWorks Startup Program and now uses Model-Based Design to reduce development time and utilize simulations with real-world test data to make the design process more iterative, the release said. “Altigreen’s participation in the MathWorks Startup program allowed it to gain early access to our industry- standard tools and enabled the company to accelerate its product development time and scale commercially,” Sunil Motwani, Country Manager, Sales & Service, said.
