As per the proposal, the state government will develop 23 bus stations on PPP mode in the first phase under DBFOT (design, build, finance, operate and transfer) model. The scheme was approved by the cabinet in November last year.

The state cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to invite bids for development of 18 bus stations on public private (PPP) mode as per the new guidelines approved on August 22 last.

This is the second time that the bids will be invited for the 18 bus stations.

As per the proposal, the state government will develop 23 bus stations on PPP mode in the first phase under DBFOT (design, build, finance, operate and transfer) model. The scheme was approved by the cabinet in November last year.

The transport department in June had issued the letters of intent (LoI) to two bidders to develop five bus stations, namely Kaushambi (Ghaziabad), Vibhuti Khand (Lucknow), Civil Lines (Prayagraj), Old Ghaziabad (Ghaziabad) and Agra Fort (Agra).

The state cabinet on June 6 had approved issuing LoIs to the bidders selected. However, in the case of remaining 18 bus stations, bids had to be invited again, as per the revised guidelines approved in the meeting of the committee of secretaries on August 22. The 23 bus stations are located in Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Bareilly, Meerut, Hapur, Aligarh, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur.
